I started visiting Colorado in 1996 and in 1998 moved to the beautiful western slope. I moved from southern Virginia, and upstate New York, where I had a farm and raised Registered Polled Hereford breeding stock and 4 daughters. I was also working as an Employment Counselor for the State of Virginia and later as a retail manager and trainer for large retail chain. After my 4 daughters graduated from college my itchy foot took over and I came West, traveling and camping extensively and finally settling in Ridgway.
Decided to become a Realtor. I started selling subdivisions, mainly, and learning how to build a house and infrastructure. I met so many wonderful people and just felt as if I found the career that completely suited me. After 2 years I became a Broker/Owner of my own company. Have been doing that ever since except for a 7 year stint as broker for Keller Williams. I have successfully done over 500 deals since getting my license. New construction came to a screeching halt in 2007 so I expanded my business to include resales, vacant land, some commercial, and small ranches.
During my years as Realtor I have served as President of local MLS, Treasurer of Regional MLS, President and State Representative for Montrose Association of Realtors, and Instructor for American Dream Real Estate School. I am now Broker/Owner of Phelps Real Estate Group with 13 Broker Associates all with experience, honesty, knowledge, and caring.

Bill is a combination of amazing work ethic and determination. He is an active Real Estate Appraiser and brings that unique skill set to Phelps Real Estate Group, Inc. This gives him the ability to perform different types of appraisals to establish and certify property values instead of depending on less accurate methods typically used to estimate prices. His appraisal business, Mountain West Appraisal Service, has been serving the Montrose, Ouray, Delta and San Miguel County areas for the past 27 years. He is known by his clients for being fair and honest. He welcomes hard work and is willing to go above and beyond for his clients. Bill is a fifth generation resident of Montrose. His family first settled in the Spring Creek area in the early 1900’s as farmers and ranchers. Bill has worked the same ground that his great-great grandfather did. His heart is tied to this community and he hopes to help others plant roots here. He is also a family man. He has been married to his wife, Laci, for 14 years. Together they have two sons named Cade & Dalton, and one daughter named Josie. He is an attentive and fun father and loving husband. Bill is also an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys all the bounty that the Western Slope has to offer and he can be found in the surrounding mountains hunting, fishing, or riding in his UTV.

Consistently improving her skills by staying abreast of the market, and strong continuing education. Growing up in the Midwest she learned the value of integrity, honesty and trustworthiness early. She attributes this to her success in real estate, along with hard work, education and a genuine passion for the industry. Having raised her two sons in the central mountains of Colorado, she moved to Montrose in 2005 to continue her career as a real estate Broker Associate. Betsy is fortunate enough to have her youngest son and 5 and 8 year old granddaughters living in Montrose. She feels like she is the luckiest of Grams to be able to live close to at least 2 out of 5 grand kids.

I love Colorado because of the closeness to family and a great place to raise my children and now watching our 12 grandchildren grow. Had worked 12 years in Fire /Ems and then for the last 8 years in the Insurance industry with my husband , who currently owns Fred Carson Shelter Insurance Agency in Delta. I love working with people in those industries and feel that gives me an understanding helping people with their Real Estate needs. I am a long time transplant to the area and have never regretted the move. Our daughter was born here and learned to ski at nearby Telluride Ski Resort, later becoming a member of the US Ski Team (freestyle aerials) traveling the World Cup Circuit. Telluride is just flat out awesome skiing! I am into weightlifting as a way to keep the cobwebs clear, and love just being outside enjoying all we have in this area. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a view of the San Juan Mountains as they go to work. Living and working in this high mountain valley in Western Colorado is a dream come true!

I have spent most of my life in this area and I feel like the people here are all my family. I have been in business in the Delta and Montrose area for over 30 years. My husband, Lynn & I have been in the new construction business since 2000. We have built many quality, custom homes in both Delta and Montrose counties and the surrounding Western Slope area. In my real estate business I specialize in new construction, however, I keep busy with property management and resale buyers as well. My favorite part of new construction is choosing the finishing products and coordinating colors of flooring, paint, cabinets and all the other details which can become mind-boggling to some. It is so rewarding to see families take possession of their new home with such excitement and sense of accomplishment. I also stay busy with various community service organizations because I feel it is so important to give back and to take care of where I live and the people that share this wonderful area with me. I cherish the history of our western slope area and believe that the significance of our history helps us live a better life today. Lynn and I have two grown children, Derek and Rachel. I am proud to say that my daughter, Rachel, is also a realtor in the Chicago area. Derek has traveled all over the western United States as a wildland firefighter for the last 10 years. It goes without saying that I am so very proud of him as well. We enjoy spending time with our family, traveling to new adventures, weekends at our cabin retreat, antiquing and vintage cars.

Hi, I’m Shane Daly. I was born in California, but thankfully my parents had the good sense to move back to Colorado when I was still very young. I feel very blessed to have grown up on the Western Slope, with all the freedoms and seemingly endless adventures it has to offer. I was welcomed to the Phelps team in early 2021. My dad is an electrical contractor and has been investing in real estate for years, so I have been peripherally involved in new construction, property management, and the buying and selling of real estate for most of my life. I married my wife Joanna in 2014. After a couple years of marriage, we wanted to start our family but weren’t quite ready for a baby yet, so we adopted our oldest daughter Selena through foster care when she was 12. Later we were able to adopt another beautiful little girl Audrey, and on January 1, 2021, my beautiful wife gave birth to our third daughter Daphne. As a father I know that the value of a home is not strictly financial. Therefore, I aim to treat every client like a close friend with their best interest and desires at the center of every transaction. I would love for the opportunity to represent you.
